Event Schedule

• Bernard’s tour will take a shorter route through the city centre, but will have an optional tour of Het Mauritshuis (The Royal Cabinet of Paintings) afterwards (for current ticketing information see: https://tickets.mauritshuis.nl/en/tickets). In this museum you can see world famous artworks such as Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and Fabritius’ Goldfinch.

• The other tour, guided by Gerwin, will solely be a tour of the city centre, but will take a longer route which includes more sights. Both tours will begin at Den Haag Centraal (railway station). Bernard’s tour will start at 13:00 and takes 3.2 km, Gerwin’s tour at 14:00 and takes 4km. So if you have a keen interest in history and politics, please come to our tour. We hope to see you!

Round 1 starts 18:30 sharp, which means we expect everyone to have arrived at the venue at 18:15. The venue opens 18:00. During round one, there will be beginner boards for players playing their first ever Diplomacy tournament or have little experience otherwise. On these boards, experienced players will be able to assist writing orders and adjudicating and rule questions can be asked. Players on these boards are still required to know the rules of Diplomacy.

Round 2 starts 09:30 sharp, which means we expect erveryone to have arrived at the venue at 09:20. The venue opens 09:00.

The hobby meeting will start at 14:00 at the tournament venue. The priorities for the meeting are the bidding for EDC 2026 and the foundation of a European Diplomacy Jelte or Maaike at least two weeks before the start of EDC 2025.

Round 3 starts 15:00 sharp, which means we expect everyone to have arrived at the venue at 14:50.

On Saturday, we will host dinner at restaurant Woo Ping (https://woopingleiden.nl/) for those (players and family/friends) who are interested in joining. We will be served an assortment of dishes from Dutch-Chinese and Dutch-Indonesian fusion cuisines for €27,50 per person, excluding drinks. Allergies and dietary preferences can be taken into account well, but have to be communicated at least one week before the dinner. Please e-mail Jelte or Maaike if you wish to take part in the group dinner.

Round 2 starts 09:30 sharp, which means we expect everyone to have arrived at the venue at 09:20. The venue opens 09:00. During round 4, a variant event will be hosted alongside the top board and regular Diplomacy games. We invite players to bring variants they would like to host, please email Jelte or Maaike if you would be interested in this, so we can discuss the possibilities. If there’s any other boardgames you’re looking to bring and want to host during this round, let us know too.

The event will be concluded by celebrating together and giving out awards.
